? Effectively communicate process issues to Lonza management (MSAT, MFG, OA), independently develop plan for resolution and drive resolution with customer technical and QA groups with a strong sense of urgency to minimize process impact. 

? Work closely with customer technical and QA groups to ensure that process changes/modifications are carefully evaluated and implemented, and documentation ready for the start of campaigns. 

? Lead customer tech team meetings and serve as technical lead at Joint Project Team meetings. 

? Lead multifunctional teams within Lonza and globally to address site/network improvement projects. 

? Serve as SME for relevant processes during customer and regulatory audits. 

? Design and direct lab studies in the MSAT scaledown process lab to support process troubleshooting and deviation investigation. Follow all applicable lab safety policies. 

? Develop and maintain floor support schedules, including oncall assignments to ensure complete support of 24/7 manufacturing operations. 

? Maintain active team presence on the production floor and constant communication with the manufacturing team. 

? Work closely with manufacturing management to define and execute projects designed to streamline operations, increase efficiency, reduce errors and improve processes. 

? Define optimal standard work flows and process steps to minimize variability across processes and master batch records. 

? Effectively leverage Lonza network expertise to investigate complex process issues and drive to appropriate conclusion. Drive investigation closure with customer and QA. 

? Lead data collection, analysis and discussion with customer technical experts to identify potential issues, trends or opportunities for process improvement. 

? Support design, execution and review of process validation activities. 

? Motivate and direct team to ensure above responsibilities are met. 

? Any other duties as assigned by leader

We expect

o A PhD. In chemical engineering, biochemical engineering,

o biochemistry/chemistry/microbiology or related discipline, with a minimum of 6 years relevant work experience, OR a Master's degree in the above disciplines with a minimum of 8 years of work experience, OR a bachelor’s degree with minimum of 10 years’ experience.

o Prior CGMP operations experience with cell culture or purification and a strong understanding of critical process parameters is required.

o Prior supervisory or project management experience required.

o Demonstrated track record in executing/managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines.

o Excellent communication skills, outstanding action orientation, and ability to work well in a cross-functional technical environment.

o Excellent technical writing skills, ability to provide attention to details is essential.

Strong knowledge of Excel and/or other data analysis software is required
